Hard to believe it has been 8 years since his passing. When I wrote back in 2011, I wrote about his stories and wisdom. I still had both parents living. Now that has changed, and I've come to realize that this loss touches you in an ongoing way with the passage of each holiday/birthday without that loving person in your life. Yes Cary, we still do miss your neighborly insights and energy, but the neighborhood community remains. It is your family and your loved ones who are most affected by such a loss, but your memories are kept alive, and time is sometimes the only thing that heals.

To me, there was no one better than Cary. Our families were intertwined and his parents were my godparents. He was two years older than me and my brother and was a spark of life and joy whenever we met at family gatherings in the past. My brother and I always looked up to him. He was a unique and creative individual. Our entire family loved him. He gave me the book "A Sand County Almanac" that deeply influenced me. Perhaps his sensiivity to nature was based on my father's lake cabin on Eagle Lake, I don't know. He was an only child and open to everyone and all that life had to offer. In later years, after his marriage and having four children and many dogs, in my perspective, he seemed such a natural at loving, participating in, and enjoying a large family and nature. We grew apart in later years due to distance and time, and I regret that. But, he will always remain in my heart and soul. His spirit will always be part of me.

Cary will be deeply missed. I met him working for Mike's Corner Store. I enjoyed talking with Cary especially before Roger Anderson passed. He was an awesome person with one of kindest souls i have ever met. I am truly blessed to have known him the little time that i did. The Moss family is in my heart thoughts and prayers. May god be with you in this time. God bless you.

Sincerely

Cary was the coach I will always remember from my childhood. He was a huge role model and a ride to anyone who couldn't get to our Annunciation basketball games. Positive always and thoughtful as can be. You will be missed greatly as a friend, coach, and patron. My prayers are with you and your family.

Cary was a profound human being. He was a great talker and even a better listener. I am lucky to have had him as a role model and coach during some pretty crucial years of my life. I didn't realize just how much he had taught me until it was to late to thank him. Thankyou Cary. Safe travels...

Dear Edi and family

Cary was always a force to be reckoned with. He helped me a lot during my time at BN. He always had a word of wisdom or a tidbit for me. I am sorry that he is gone and he will be missed.

It was wonderful to know Cary and your family during my time working at the Camp Center and with Menogyn - those relationships are very cherished and deep. Cary's passion for the wilderness, Menogyn and his family always impressed and inspired me. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family at this time. - Beth Warner (formerly Rutter)

My Uncle Cary,
What can I say. He liked to talk and I like to talk. We sure had some great conversations over the years. The one that has stood out in my mind for years and I have thought about it many times, is the one about computers.
This was around 1976.
He said to me "Mark my words. Someday music and movies will be on computers"

Well I was using keypunch cards at time time to run programs. Early computers.

Well look where we are today.

Uncle Cary I will miss you very much.

Love Paul

Dear Edi and family,
Kari was a great human being, and someone I feel privileged to have known as a part of our "neighborhood family". He was someone who had a positive spin for difficult situations and challenges. He will definitely be missed within our neighborhood. I am sorry for your loss of a great man, husband, and father.

On behalf of the Anderson's I'd like to offer our sympathy on your loss. Cary was a great man and a really good friend to my dad and to our family. In one of my disscusions with him once he told me that the world needs good teachers to show others how the world should be. The world just lost a great teacher. He will be deeply missed.

An incredible, intelligent and well liked man. I am both saddened and honored to have known Cary Moss. I will always remember his jovial disposition, vast knowledge pertaining to Historical books, and his love for fishing. Especially Snooks!

I love Cary Moss. His voice and his hugs will always be a clear memory to me. Cary really helped shaped my life when one day my dad and Cary talked at a soccer game when Betsy and I were in high school about how they wanted to get their daughters on a trip at Menogyn together. We went the next summer and have continued to go back each year for the past 17 years. All of our best friends and husbands are from Menogyn. So basically I give full credit to our dads for helping us create these wonderful life long friendships.

Thanks Cary Moss
