I'm so happy that I got to meet up with Lou some years ago. Somewhere in Vegas or Laughlin...We ate and gambled a bit at the casinos and Lynell got to meet her as well....I miss Lou. She was like a second mom/big sister to me. When I messed up, she put me in my place..

Hey Mom,
One last time to say hi. This guestbook is going offline after tonight. And please, DON'T ask me what offline means. HA!
I still have the 'plaque' you gave me at graduation.. almost 29 yrs ago. I still can't fathon that its been that long! The plaque has a rabbit and a porcupine on it, holding hands and dancing. There is a rainbow in the background.
"If friendship were made of colors, ours would be a rainbow". Again, yes, it was a rainbow, and I am missing the pot of gold that you were (are) Mom.
I really don't want this guestbook to be 'done', but I will for sure continue to think of you, talk to you and write to you.
Donnie left on the 26th to go to the RV.. you guys left it in Laughlin and came home in the car because you were so sick and in pain. Only to find out that you had a UTI and a dislocated shoulder.. and had BOTH of them for three weeks. And BOTH OF THEM were misdiagnosed at the SAME hospital there in Nevada. Breaks my heart to know how much pain and misery you experienced. I could hear it in your voice. And then in your lack of phone calls.
Aaannnyway.. You are right there with him... in the front seat. And he told me to tell you that you are buckled in. He even moved you to the backseat last Saturday so Adam 12 could ride in the front. Some people may think this is wierd or something, but this is totally 'me and you talk'.... Oh Mom, please come to me, some how, some way. I keep looking for signs, I even make things up! HA!! Love you and miss you more than I ever thought I could. I knew I would, just didn't know how hard it really was going to be. Oh hell, who am I trying to fool.. I did know. Just didn't want to accept that it was happening.
You once told Brumo "I worry about that one" meaning me. You don't need to worry anymore, as you know. You haven't needed to worry since I married Bruno. I know you know that. On November 16th, Bruno's 51st birthday, you hoarsely whispered to me "I love you too Jeanie". Those were the last words to me personally that I feel you understood. And I am grateful for those words Mom.
Ok, I am rambling, once again, and you are probably lost in the action.. once again. HAHA! Love you so much Mom, and miss you so much more.
Love Jean the Bean.

Hi Mom,
It's Christmas Eve day, and I am so sad. I miss you like crazy. We all do. Donnie is heartbroken, but being well cared for. I actually saw a few smiles out of him the other night. I miss your phone calls, I miss telling you what is going on in my life.. I just plain miss you. I could sit and stare and this pictures for hours, makes me feel like you are right here. Oh how I wish you really were.
Your first Christmas in Heaven, how great that must be to be with Gpa and Gma and your brothers again for Christmas!
You are missed so bad. So so bad.
I love you forever!

As was your style, your last get to gether was your best party ever. You left us with lots of laughter, tears, and indelible memories. Thanks Lou for all of the gatherings at your annual pool parties and being the best hostess ever. God bless you for the talents he gave you that I was able to share.

Ma,
So many things I want to say; too many to write. I will always remember you letting me eat cereal when I stayed home sick, from school. Watching Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Square Pegs and Little House on the prairie laying on your bed my chin on your legs; more specifically your shins, which by the way were very bony. I remember making Christmas cookies with you every year. It was the best when you threw flour all over the kitchen counter. I can still picture those cookie cutters. I remember (and this is before cordless phones) when you would talk on the phone and put your foot up on the counter so you could do your stretching. I remember when I was in the hospital you would come to see me and brush the “rats nest” out of my hair. (Hey, by the way, what is up with my hair, I look like Chewbacca when I get up in the morning). I will always remember your beautiful hair. I remember the excitement I felt every year during Christmas season when it was the “day” to decorate the house. I will always remember your “snorting laugh”. I remember your Pearl Drops toothpaste and how it was a treat to use it. I remember your half of stick of gum rule… ha. I love you mom. You are not gone; just away. See ya on the flip side Lou-Lou.

Don and family, we want to send you our condolences. We use to have such great times bowling, pool parties and playing cards, with Lou being such a great hostess and always making us feel so welcome even though Milt was always ging her a bad time about everything and anything he could tease her about. She was a very good sport I have to say. All though we haven't kept in contact the last few years we have always considered her and Don good friends.

My dear friend Lou....
We met so many years ago at a bowling alley in Coon Rapids. At first, I was so intimidated by you but then you became the second mom/big sister in my life that I so needed...We talked about anything and everything...Lynell and I are so fortunate that we bumped into you and Donnie in Arizona. That was a wonderful week...Thank you so much for making me feel like "one of your other kids..." I pray you have found eternal peace and we will see each other again...

Mary... we have never met but I have become friends with Deb and shared banter with other family members.
As a parent we always hope our children will be a fine example of the type of person we are and I must say you were obviously a very fine person and would have loved to have known you but instead, through fate, I will think of you and the person you where when speaking with your sons and daughters...and I say thank you.
RIP Mary...it is time for those you held dear and close to continue the journey.

Dear Deb, Jim, Dave, Rich, Jean, Ron, Jodi -- you have my loving sympathy and lots of prayers. There are so many years of memories, about 60 I think. In the beginning I didn't much like Lou cuz she was taking my brother away too much, and at age 12 or so, that is a big thing. Then when they got married and we use to play 31, just the two of us -- she won! And Don, I just got to know you these past few weeks -- I know from those days how much you love Lou and how much you will miss her. Just remember, she is always with you in spirit. God bless all of you. Love you much, Aunt (Ant) Lynne

Lou was not only my couisin but a good friend as well. We spent time together as kids, graduated from high school together and continued to stay in touch while raising families and even into our senior years. I will miss her as I do her brother Eddie, also a good friend as well.

Lou-It seems like just yesterday when I met you and Larry and the Johnston family. Jimmy was a 7th grader who had tried track with some success. Soon 6 of the 7 Johnston kids came through my classroom or the cross country program. Through all of this time your smile, your intelligence, your sense of humor and the love of your kids kept shining through. We will miss you here but now you get to visit with the Lord. I am happy to have known you. Thanks to Lou's family for sharing her with the rest of us.

I will always remember Lou - among my fondest memories: teaching me how to bowl (every Sat from 3rd to 12th grade at the alley!), her floating in the pool and saying "Jeanie - get me a drink!", driving to Oklahoma to visit Jean's cousins...and seeing when Lou could read the traffice signs (basically once we were under the sign). Although I didn't get to see her much in past years, I will always treasure growing up with her as a 'second mom'. So happy you are at peace now.

I will always have fond memories of Lou up at Pearl Lake. She was a big part of our summers there. My prayers are with all of my cousins Deb, Jim, Dave, Rich, Jean, Ron, and Jody; and for Don as well. Lou could skip rocks with the best of us.
