I just wanted you all to know that we at Children's think of you and pray for you all often. We are still saddened by her loss, although I know that doesn't do anything to help you all. I wish you peace in this new year as another anniversary comes up of missing your beautiful daughter. I will never forget her or your family.

Dear Carly,
I met you when i was in Kindergarten. You were in second grade. We got to know each other when i was in first and you were in third. I always followed you and your friends around and you were nice enough to make me feel including with the bigger kids. You were always the prettest girl I knew and I was always jealous of that. We had some good times that year. I was so sad when you went into fourth grade and had to go to a different school. I missed you a lot. The school felt so different without you. I always asked you brother about you and if you remembered me and I think you did. We didn't talk a lot after that. When i went into fourth grade I saw you again. I became closer with you brother and I always liked when you came to visit him in class. You went to a different school again the next year and I missed you again. In two years we were back at the same school. I don't think you rememeber me as much as I remember you but I still loved you. You still came to visit your brother and tease him. It was so nice to see how much you loved him and I could tell he loved you back just as much even if he was annoyed with you. The next year you moved to another school again. I was looking forward to being at the same school again in two years but now I know that can't happen. Your life was cut too short when all you wanted to do was to make people happy. I never ever saw you being mean to anyone. You were always so upbeat and energetic. You had so many friends. Everyone wanted to be around you. I light my candle to the pretty, accepting, happy, out-going, energetic, popular, nice, funny girl I met that first day of kindergarten. Love you Carls.

I am numb to hear if Carly's death. Our son Thomas, 19 months, was in the hospital the same time Carly was. Pastor Tonya would talk to us about Carly when we checked in. We prayed for her and Thomas at the same time. It is hard to believe your darling girl went to heaven. We grieve with you.

I did not personally know your beautiful daughter (sister), but in seeing her heartbroken and devastated friends' reactions to this tragic loss,it is clear that your Carly was one of a kind. I will remember listening to our girls and their silly antics during carpools to swim practice. I will also remember how Carly's friendship made Syd's SLP transition so much easier. Even my son has fond memories of lip syncing songs with Carly and how her funny brother called the YMCA Camp bus driver a “whippersnapper”. Our time with Carly were mere moments and we still have great memories. I can only imagine the magnitude of beautiful memories you will hold in your heart. Carly made such a huge impression on so many in her short time with all of us. She will be deeply missed.
