Helen, Bobby and Family, I am so sorry to hear belatedly about Alta Mae's passing. I have so many wonderful memories of working for her and having her as a friend. I see so many former co-workers/friends in the memorials. Alta Mae was one of a kind and will always be missed and loved. I wish you peace.

Alta Mae was a sincere and caring person and employer. She always saw the good side in everything and everyone. I had the pleasure of working for "Granny" from 1973 until she retired in 1985. A wonderful Lady that will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathy to all of her family.

I worked at Honda of Austin a couple of years while in college. I have some of the best memories of those days, including passing by "Granny's" office everyday where she kept her finger on the pulse of the entire shop! I can remember coming to work Saturday mornings after the Friday night motocross races. If you had crashed the night before Granny had little sympathy for you unless you drew blood in the fall! She was a very special woman and it was a pleasure to work at HOA a few years. I made some great friends there, including many who have signed her guest book here.
I regret not making the services today. I'm in Florida for work this week, but have Bobby, Helen and the rest of the family in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
Russell Powers

I enjoyed working for Alta Mae (Granny)for several years beginning in 1966 and continuing through 1973. She was more than just an employer as she always treated my husband John and I as one of their own. We had many wonderful times together and will always cherish our memories of her and her family. Helen and Bobby, please accept our condolences and you will be in our thoughts and prayers. Mary and John Moreland

Sam and I were neighbors of Alta Mae. She was a very fine lady. We think of her often as we see her house and the beautiful trees that she planted around the house that will always remind us of her. May God bless all of you and may the sadness that you bear now change to beautiful memories in the years to come. Mary Gail and Samuel Leming, Buda, Texas.

Alta Mae sold me my first "real" motorcycle in 1960, then helped me when I started my own dealership in 1965; she was a great friend to all of us that hung out at their shop in the 60's. George H. McMahan, Lubbock, Texas

IT IS ONE OF MY BEST MEMORIES, HAVING THE PRIVILEGE OF KNOWING ALTA MAE SINCE SHE HAD THE MOTORCYCLE SHOP IN 1955. SHE HAD MORE KNOWLEDGE IN HER MIND, THAN MOST PEOPLE COULD FIND IN A BOOK. REST IN PEACE. DAVE & IDA GILES
