Carolyn ROGERS Obituary

ROGERS, Carolyn Jean
Carolyn Jean Rogers was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on November 20th, 1950, to Jean Curl Rogers and Richard William Rogers Jr. She died peacefully in the early evening of April 21st, 2016, in Houston, Texas, having been ill for some time.
Carolyn lived with her husband, Frank Connell Sayre, for over forty years in Austin. She is survived by her mother, Jean, of Horseshoe Bay; her brother Richard William Rogers III of Corpus Christi, his wife Margaret, their daughter Bett and son Richard; her brother Jeffrey Harris Rogers of Austin, his wife Carolyn and their son Jeffrey; and her brother Anthony Jerome Rogers of San Antonio, his husband Blair and their son Alex. Carolyn's husband also survives her as do their children: George Anthony Sayre, his wife Negin Saghafi and their daughter Darya of Los Angeles, California; Murphy Clifford Sayre and his wife Brianna of Dallas; and last but hardly least, Roger Lawrence Sayre of Austin.
Mere words fail to convey. Nevertheless, let it be remembered that Carolyn was a ceaselessly loving mother to her children, a supportive child to her parents, a devoted sister to her brothers, a source of warmth to everyone in our broader families, and a steadfast friend to many people she knew over the years. To her husband she was everything: loving companion, gentle critic, and best friend.
Carolyn, you departed this life too soon and too young and with too many smiles left to be smiled. Leviter requiescas carissima in pace dulci aeternaque.

My sister, Kathleen, and I had the pleasure of working with Carolyn at Austin Public Library.

She was welcoming, friendly, caring, and had a great sense of humor.

I am blessed to have known and worked with her. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

She was a joy to know and she gave us so much....and then there was her laugh! Many thanks to the Rogers family for sharing her with us.

My condolences to you, Frank, and to you and Carolyn's sons, George, Murphy and Roger. You all resided deep within her heart and she talked of you lovingly at work all the time.

I was shocked to learn today that Carolyn Rogers had passed. I worked with her at Austin Public Library's Central location for many years and always loved her sweet smile and unfailing helpfulness. She was a great librarian and person and will truly be missed. May the Lord Jesus Christ comfort all her loved ones in this sad time.

It had been too long since I last saw Frank and Carolyn (at Prentice's wake), but she was such an valued part of that small community of friends enjoying that threshold between college life and adulthood. She was funny and dear and unforgettable.
