Raymond Teague Obituary

Raymond Floyd Teague Raymond Floyd Teague was born in Montgomery, Alabama on October 28, 1940 and went home as a Christian on September 9, 2013 in Austin, Texas. Raymond went from humble beginnings to a life of great and varied accomplishments. He never forgot where he came from. His heart was always in Reagan, Tennessee at his family's home place. One of his proudest achievements was installing telephone lines at the family homes as a young adult. He worked his way through Memphis State University with a degree in Engineering. He was in the Air Force ROTC and spent eight years in the Air Force as an officer. Raymond specialized in electrical engineering and worked with the Air Force, RCA, and Lockheed as part of NASA. He was a guidance officer on the Apollo missions and SkyLab, including Apollo 13 for which he earned a Presidential Medal of Freedom. He worked on the space shuttle program helping design the camera system. In later years, he worked for Lockheed helping develop drone technology. Raymond had a life-long interest in sport-shooting. He was a patriot with strong opinions on national and international politics and global events. Raymond had great mechanical skills and was always finding something that he could 'improve'. He loved animals and especially his dog, Sam T. Puggles. Raymond loved his family and was always supportive of them and quick to help anyone. Raymond is survived by his wife, Diana Teague, and his children of which he was most proud, Amanda, Andrew, and Allan Teague. He is also survived by his aunt, Mattie Wright, his sisters, Jean Teague and Linda Bolinger, and his brothers, Roger and Charles Teague, as well as their families. Raymond had many friends and family locally and across the country who will miss him very much. A memorial service will be held at Driftwood Methodist Church in Driftwood, Texas at 11:30am on Saturday, September 14, 2013.
