Alma Millsaps Obituary

Alma Millsaps STONY POINT Alma Rufty Millsaps, 91, of 83 Stony Point School Rd., Stony Point, passed away Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at Gordon Hospice House, after an extended illness. She was born April 17, 1920, in Iredell County to the late Joe "J.W." Rufty and Lela Bruce Rufty. Mrs. Millsaps was a homemaker. She was also a member of Stony Point United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Harding Millsaps; a son, David Woodrow Millsaps; a twin brother, Albert Rufty; a brother, Joe Rufty; and a sister, Martha Stikeleather. She is survived by two sons, Joe Millsaps and wife, Gail, and Jackie Millsaps and wife, Hazel, all of Stony Point; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchil-dren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011, at Stony Point United Methodist Church. Rev. Donnie Durham will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. this evening, Sept. 13, at Chapman Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Gordon Hospice House, 2347 Simonton Rd., Statesville, NC 28625 or Stony Point United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 120, Stony Point, NC 28678 .
