Eric Felder Obituary
Eric Brent Felder Sr., 46, lifelong Hastings resident, recently of Palm Coast, transitioned on Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Flagler Hospital, St. Augustine.
Eric was a native of Palatka, born Saturday, May 8, 1965, to Eddie George and Jessie Mae (Middlebrook) Felder.
He was a former member of Gethsemane Baptist Church and Pompey's Temple Church of God in Christ. He attended Hastings High School (Class of 1983).
Eric was formerly employed as a lumber yard foreman in Bunnell. He was an avid sports fan, loved detailing cars and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Eric was preceded in eternal rest by his father; brother, Eddie "Lucky" Felder; and son, Eric Brent "Lil Eric" Felder Jr.
To cherish his memories: mother, Jessie Mae Middlebrook, Hastings; daughters, Erica (Marty) Lee and Darleshia "Naomi" Felder, both of Palm Coast, Kristine Felder, St. Augustine, Ranesha Gaines, Fayetteville, N.C., Maria Butuso, Georgia; son, D'Ante Felder, Hastings; stepchildren, Dominic Gaines, St. Augustine, and Rahkia Gaines, Fayetteville; eight grandchildren; sisters, Cornester Terry, Gainesville, Minister Glenda "GiGi" (Minister Hiawathia) Porter, Hastings, Goldia Felder and Paula (Dwayne) Shack, both of Jacksonville, Sherry Felder, Tampa, and Alfreda ("J.R.") Evans, West Palm Beach; adoptive sister, Shelby Jack; brothers, Kenneth (Annie Ruth) Felder, Danny Felder and Victor Felder; sister-in-law, Hildegard Felder, all of Hastings; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011, at the "Chapel of Serenity." Life's Celebration will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011, at The Lord's Temple City of Refuge, 140 Gilmore St., Elder Thomas Cave III, pastor. The Rev. Karl N. Flagg, pastor of Mt. Tabor First Baptist Church, Palatka, is the eulogist. Rev. Rick Torrence, pastor of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church, is presiding.
Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Karl N. Flagg Serenity Memorial Chapel, 2400 Madison St., Palatka, FL 32177.

Wow it's almost been a year and I still don't know how to say Goodbye.. U are still on my mind and u still have a place in my heart.. Im tryin to move forward but with that I take it slow.. I still can't believe ur gone but I now know to a better place.. Look for my mother and give her and Lil Eric a big kiss n hug for me

hey sweetie i miss you more then anything its hard to accept that you are gone.. well i am getting ready to start school something i have always wanted to do we talked about it but now i have the chance to final start i wish you were here to share it with me. i love you so much and i am truly missing you in my life.. i pray that god give me the strength i need to make it through this it still seems like yesterday that i lost you... muAHHH

hey sweetie today is my bday and how i miss not being able to share it physically with you, it seems like today i lost you cause the pain never seems to let up your always on my mind and forever in my heart in 4 days it will be 6months you have been taken from me.. i love you so much and i am sorry we ended this way i constantly ask myself Why!! but know u keep a place in my heart..muahh love u forever baby!!!!!!!

OMG.. HOW I HAVE WEATHERED THIS STORM.. ITS BEEN 3MONTHS 2WEEKS AND 5DAYS SINCE WE SAID OUR LAST GOODBYE AND EVERYDAY IT NEVER SEEMS TO GET ANY EASIER.. May God continuously bless my family and give us strength for we have suffered a great loss. When I think of Eric (which is everyday) I can hear him laughing and wish that he was still here with us. My baby brother is gone but he will NEVER be forgotten.

Not many people knew but "Flash" was my nickname for you. You were my Best Friend for nearly 20yrs. Although I am heartbroken I have faith I will see you again one day. I look forward to seeing that famous smile. I love and miss you more than you know.
