Stan is imbedded in our memory forever as a coach and 2nd father to all of us during our formative years. Especially me from 7th grade Hazel Lads through 12th grade. Hope the family is doing well. Thank God for having Stan being a part of our life.

Stan continues to live on in our memory. Just yesterday , my wife (Jan) and I compared a recent new introduction of a neighbor to Stan with his gregarious manner. Stan was my best friend and he will always remain in our memory.

We all hand fun when Stan ran for UglyMan on Campus - it was a big deal and the fraternity came up with a skit that we took around to all the sororities and girls dorms - we sang a little jingle - great good fun was had by all - every penny was a vote - went to the Campus Chest (a collection of charities). Posters w/ scary photo of Stan all dressed up - someone probably has copy.

To the Henderson family and wrestlers of the past,
I still think of Stan often and my prayers are with his family. He was my second father. His guidance and discipline taught me many valuable lessons during my formative years as a wrestler and student that helped me maintain an unrelenting work ethic to this day for which I am eternally grateful. My best wishes and best of health to his family.

Dear Patsy,
Memories are forever and Stan was my 2nd father having been through Hazel-lad wrestling in 7th grade through senior high as coach and gym teacher. He kept me on the right path and there was never a day went by that I didn't use his euphemism to help me get through the tough times. Wrestling as a self discipline prepared me not only for sports, but for my life career as a heart surgeon. Thanks for the memories!

I had the honor of meeting "Coach" Henderson in the early 1970's at HHS. He was the epitome of class, character and encouragement. I recently learned of his passing and wanted to share a few words about a wonderful man and educator.

Hello Patsy & family:
We had the pleasure of getting to know both of you when we traveled with the tour group "Are We There Yet? LLC" (Williamsburg).
Stan had such a wonderful personality so it was easy to get to know him. I know he will be missed by everyone that knew him. I am sure he touched many people's lives as he touched ours in the very short time we knew him.
God bless all of you in this time of sorrow.

Stan was an "official" member of the Grubbs family of wrestlers at Ritenour High School. His incredible sense of humor and winning smile made him immediately one of us. News of his death has made the rounds of our family's email group, and many have expressed their condolences. All say the same thing: We really loved Stan.
Said one of the Grubbs Family elders--my Mom always thought the world of Stan 'cause he'd always say thanks for having me over...and "he even washed her dishes once!" See? He still makes us smile. Ron Grubbs

Patsy and Family,
I had the honor of knowing Stan through the Hazelwood School District. He was an example of what a great coach and human being can be. I admired his ability to comunicate with his wrestlers and everyone who came in contact with him. He was a special guy with a great sense of humor. Thanks for sharing him with us. He will be missed.

Patsy and family, Stan was one of the little guys on the team our team Captain and motivation for the weights who would follow himk to the mat. Stan always had a smile on his face except on the mat and then it was all business. My last conversation with Stan was very uplifting and I was happy and proud to have Stan as part of my life in the best of times every. My friend will be missed.
I'm so very sorry for your loss.

It is hard to lose a great friend of over fifty years. I followed Stan to Purdue from St.Louis. We were both heavily influenced by our fraternity brother "Hap" Whitney. We (Jan), have traveled the world together with Stan and Patsy for the last ten years with Marriott timeshares - what escapades we share. He truly is "one of a kind", and he will be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with Patsy and the family.

Stan, you were thought of tonight as we played trivia and there was a category on presidents. Declan looked at me and said,"If Stan were here he'd know all the answers." We loved traveling with you and spending time together.
Patsy, we will plan to see you on Tuesday. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Just give us a holler if the St Louis Tour Girl and Tour Guy can offer a hand. Much love, Dea and Declan
