Lucille Meier Obituary

Meier, Lucille Ann was called to eternal rest with her heavenly Father Thursday morning October 16, 2014 at the age of 85. She was born April 12, 1929, the 3rd of 5 children born to Albert and Mary Emmerich in St. Louis, MO. Lucille married Joseph Meier on November 30, 1957 and was blessed with 7 children, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her son Gregory, and her sister Margaret. Surviving relatives include son Gerard and his wife Kimberley of St. Charles, MO; daughter Annette Launius and her husband Tim of St. Charles, MO; son Tom and his wife Kathleen of Catawissa, MO; son Larry and his wife Mary of O'Fallon, MO; son Joe and his wife Christine of Manchester, MO; son Marty of Defiance, MO; brother Joe Emmerich of Hutchinson, Kansas; sister Alice Wingbermuehle of St. Louis, MO; sister Marie Busch of Knoxville, TN. Lucille graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1947 and from St. John's Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 to become a registered nurse. She became a full time mother in 1959, caring for her family in Manchester, MO. She moved to St. Charles, MO in 1988. Her life of charitable works included delivering Meals on Wheels and serving in the Legion of Mary at St. Joseph Church in Cottleville, MO. There was no mistaking her love for life and children. She loved to travel and participated in the annual March for Life in Washington D.C. with her grandchildren numerous times. Services: Her memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. on October 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cottleville.
