First of all I would like express my sincere condolences to the Renshaw family. Thirty Two years ago I was 18 and began my first job at St. Louis Ship. Mr. Renshaw, of course, was the President at that time.
I was extremely intimidated by him when I went in for my interview. He seemed so stern and serious, I wasn't quite sure how I was going to contain my bubbly, somewhat silly, personality. But to this day I remember how calming he was. I think he knew I was quite nervous and he just had this way of making me feel comfortable.
I think it was about 4 years after I was hired that Mr. Renshaw retired. I was very sorry to see him go. What I discovered about him during that time was what a dedicated man he was. Everyone who worked in the main office, steel mill, and the shipyard itself, highly respected him. He was a great leader and a fine example of integrity and compassion. With great fondness I have often thought of Mr. Renshaw through the years and of the entire St. Louis Ship experience; Shirley Banks, Tony Tobin, Gene Krueger and I could go on and on. It was an awesome place to work. I wish I could go back to that time again.
Mr. Renshaw was a great man and it was truly an honor knowing him.

I was one of the first volunteers at the Patch Community Center when Mr. Renshaw was very active about twenty years ago. What a kind, generous and wonderful person. We will always have the great memories.

In one's life there are people that leave such an impact that they are never forgotten. Mr. Renshaw was one. I will always cherish my eighteen years of employment at St. Louis Ship. Thank you Mr. Renshaw for all your support and guidance.
