Dear Mimi and family: My heart aches for you. I will always remember the Happy Sailors and your dedication to each other. This is a great loss for you, your family and friends and the sailing community. I will never forget your kindness @ Conch Inn, babysitting my girls and teaching them about Lovey's pizza.

Dear Mimi and family;
Your Buck was the most fun, with a huge smile and a spectacular laugh that he used to warm every room and heart. A stand-up, stand-by-you guy who was so, so kind and generous to my family. I am terribly sorry that we lost touch over the years but you were always thought of with the deepest appreciation.
My heart breaks for your loss.
Lovingly, always

Buck Gillette. I always thought to myself…what a great name. The name itself just screams leadership, honor, strength, intelligence, wit and integrity. In this case, it was more than just a cool name. The man truly backed up the name with all the qualities listed above. Mona always said, “If you want to do something special with your life….be like Buck”. She was always good at issuing “tall orders”. I’m confident that somewhere in the universe Mona and Buck are having a laugh while enjoying a stuffed artichoke along with Coors beer smuggled across the Mississippi before its time.
Mimi and Family, I am sending love and positive thoughts your way.
Fair Winds and Following Seas.
Warm regards,

Rexford, Sarah, Mimi & Rebeccah:
My sincere condolonces for the loss of your father.
Although many years have come and gone since we last spoke, I have indelible and pleasant memories of the early years of Electra football, Coral Springs and how your family & Buck played an important role. He was a man with a certain presence, style and sharp wit. He always reminded me of the actor Ross Martin, who starred in the Wild Wild West show from the seventies. Tomorrow, along with Roger Knight and Joe Sadar, I shall see you at the Memorial. I'm sure Buck is sailing a streamlined yacht high up in the heavens and is as proud as can be of the family that misses him so dearly and utterly.

Mimi, my heart goes out to you. As one of the 6 "kiwi's" I have so many wonderful, fun, and wild memories that included Buck. Buck was one of Billy's first football coaches. I was so glad he was part of the coaching staff because he offered something other than just a knowledge of the game. Class was what I would call it. Buck was a classy, nice guy. We actually got to grow up and raise our children together since we first met 42 years ago. Rex, Sarah and Rebecca are such a fine example of who you both are as human beings. Find some consolation in knowing that our beloved "kiwi's" Mary Berch Dale and Carolyn Mills
are up there and will be looking after him for you. I love you, Mimi. Claire Logan

My dear friend Mimi and your wonderful family. It is with heavy heart that I send you this heartfelt message. Not many words can describe the vibrant (and adorable) Buck! Always a smile and a look of adoration for his beautiful (sometimes "Ditzy") wife!! All the years of togetherness in the growing of Coral Springs, sports for all the kids and we really found our best roots there with all of our families. Howard will welcome Buck with a good handshake and a "shaker" full of some "joy juice". Love and blessings to all of the Coffeyviller's.

Mimi, Sarah, Rex, and Becky,
I am so sorry to hear of Buck's passing. What a shock. The thoughts of the Lytle family from across the canal are with you. I suspect Buck and Marshall are trading sea stories somewhere at this point over a rum an'.

Dear Gillette Family,
There are certain people in this world who influence and shape the outcome of the people we become. Mr Gillette was one of them for me. Although it has been a long time since I had the pleasure of visiting your family, Buck led by example on how to be a man, a husband and a father. I can only hope that I will be as successful as he was in those endeavors. Not only was he a great man, he also made me appreciate the talents of Willie Nelson:). Our prayers and love are for you all. And to one of my heros, Buck Rest in Peace.

Buck was an amazing man that charmed you and made you fall in love with him the moment you met him. The mischevious twinkle in his eye is something I will forever remember, as well as his deep love for the beautiful Mimi. Buck - you will be greatly missed by family, friends and many others you came into contact with over these many years. You truly do have the wind at your back right now.

My heart is heavy for you. I would so love to be there for Buck's celebration of life.
Please know I am there in spirit and with love to all of you. Buck was a very special man, and I remember our fun times together at Lake Winnebago, Annapolis and at your first home in Ft. Lauderdale. Maybe Bill Geren is waiting to go sailing with him, I hope so.
