Terry was a close friend, with a generous heart and spirit.
He adored Olivia and TJ, and continually gave of himself to others, well beyond his considerable financial giving.
He believed in people, and wanted to share joy wherever he went.
We grew close the final chapter of his life. He was such a blessing, teaching me many lessons.
All permeated with joy and a smile.
We miss you Terry

Terry Ooten was a man who loved people, loved to have fun, yet enjoyed it even more when the ones around him were having fun.
He deeply loved his daughter Olivia, they were truly best friends. TJ was loved deeply as well, and both T J and Olivia had many adventious trips with their father.
Terry loved to cook as he was a great chef. He was a kind, generous and loving man. Everybody liked Terry.

Melissa, TJ, and Olivia, Please accept my deepest sympathies for your tragic loss. The obituary you wrote provided a perfect picture of the memories many of us share of your husband and dad. I remember him fondly at so many Maclay activities with TJ and Kelly (classmates) as well as other events around the school. He was devoted to his children and I trust those good memories will comfort you all now and in the future.

Ooten Family,
Please know that my heart is broken learning of Terry's untimely passing. We saw Terry a couple of months ago at Hurricane and he always was so welcoming to us and always had a megawatt smile and a handshake or a hug. We always appreciated him taking the time to make us feel special. Melissa and Family please know that if there is anything I can do to be of any help I am a phone call or e-mail away. We truly better people for knowing such a beautiful family. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and I hope you can find comfort in the wonderful memories of Terry. The wonderful Husband and Father who was devoted to his wife and children. May you all find the strength to get through this. We love you.

I knew Terry when he was in middle school & high school as his older sister, Cindy, was my steadfast friend. He was good-natured and kind to the core back then & grew into an awesome adult and parent. One of the good ones lost too soon. My condolences to his family& his bereaved sister and father.
