Frederick LAPPER Obituary

LAPPER, Frederick Charles

84, of Seminole, passed away Sept. 5, 2015. He was born in Montreal, Canada. He played on two State Championship Basketball teams and on the South ALL Star Team while at Miami Sr. High in 1950. He played college basketball at Florida Southern College where he was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame. He coached high school teams at Bartow (State Champions 1958), Tampa Plant (State Runners up 1961) and Boca Ciega high School. He was elected to coach the South High School Team in 1959. Most of his career was spent representing the Random School Division. He was a Florida Sale Representative, Southern Regional Manager, and retired as National Sales Manager. He as a member of the Seminole Lake Country Club for many years and was a terrible golfer. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly; daughter, Erin Russell; son, Gavin of Tampa; and grandchildren, Jack Russell IV and Madison Russell. A private family burial will take place in Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House, 401 7th Ave. S., St. Petersburg FL 33701.
