She was a proud member of her Hillsborough County United team, "The Crispers," for many years. She recently became an honorary member of the University of North Carolina woman' s national championship soccer team as they befriended her after meeting Kelly in North Carolina this past season. The UNC girls were inspired by Kelly' s courageous spirit, and played in honor of her this season and won 27 games in a row after meeting her. Kelly recently attended the national championships, cheered her teammates on and participated in the championship celebration. Kelly was an Irish dancer with The Butler School for four years and traveled to numerous competitions. She was a talented artist following in the footsteps of her mother, grandmother and great-grand-father. Kelly was a very special, caring, sweet, sincere, kind, loving, courageous, athletic, wonderful girl who fought the battle of her life and touched many people with her relentless spirit and positive attitude throughout her long battle with cancer. We want to give special thanks to all of the nurses and doctors at All Children' s Hospital, the caring staff and volunteers at hospice, and Kelly' s special friends, Sarah, Dana, Ronda, Marie, Carolyn, Shona, Lynda, Carol, Sue, Lani and Randy, her teammates and her dog, Buddy.
