Susan Grim Obituary
GRIM, Susan Lynagh, 75, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Tuesday, November 21, 2006, after a brief illness. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she moved with her family to Tampa when she was six months of age. She attended The Academy of Holy Names for all 12 grades. She was an accomplished equestrian and classical pianist. She rode her horse on Bayshore Blvd. with friends as a girl, and boarded her horse, and later taught riding at Tampa Yacht Club Stables. She took her horse with her as she attended Florida State University, where they performed in the circus. She would later finish her studies at the University of South Florida. She returned to Tampa, where she met and married Andrew J. Grim, who preceded her in death in 2003. Mr. Grim joined the family jewelry business, Dunn ' Ewbank, originally located in the old Tampa Theatre building downtown. Mrs. Grim attended Christ the King Catholic Church, where one of the original stained glass windows stands in dedication to the original construction of the church in the Lynagh name. Mrs. Grim has received all of the sacraments at this church. She was a lifelong member of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, where her father was an original member. She was very active in the Ladies Golf Association. She raised her family there, all playing golf and swimming on the swim team and she enjoyed playing bridge with friends there as well. She loved her large family, and thinking of things to do for them. Mrs. Grim is survived by her children, Jeanne Holton Carufel (Mark), Andrew J. Grim (Patsy), Stephen J. Grim (Karen), Joanne Pistorius (Brando). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Amanda C., Elizabeth, Heather, Kristin, Andrea, Whitney, Amanda M., Emily, Josh, Jeff, John and Carson. Visitation services will be 6-7:30 p.m. Friday November 24, 2006 at Blount ' Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006, at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. Father Joseph Doyle, S.J., president of Jesuit High School will officiate.
