Walter F. Alden Jr. born November 30, 1928 in Melrose, Massachusetts passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016. He was predeceased in death by his wife Barbara Joan Alden, his father Walter F. Alden Sr. of Wakefield, Massachusetts, his mother Doris Folson of Danvers, Massachusetts.

Walter attended Northeastern University and Suffolk University in Boston Massachusetts. He was president of his established business Alden Heating & Ventilating Inc. out of Gorham, ME. He resided in Wakefield, North Reading, and Andover, Massachusetts before moving to Cape Elizabeth, Maine. He later retired to Palm City, Florida as well as Round Island on Lake Winnipesaukee in Gilford, NH. Walter loved the outdoors. He was an avid golfer, skier and a private pilot, and a Ham Radio operator.

Walter is survived by three children: Debbie Costa of Reidsville, North Carolina, Paula Small of Carrabassett Valley, Maine, and Scott Alden of Vero Beach, Florida. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kimberly MacDonald, Katelyn Costa, and Nicole Alden, as well as, one great grandchild, Kylie MacDonald and two sisters, Marilyn Wisner of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Janice Mellow of Rowley, Massachusetts

He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Alden, of Wakefield, Massachusetts.

A graveside service will be held in the spring, where he will be laid to rest next to his late wife, Barbara J. Alden. Debbie, Paula & Scott..I am so very sorry for your loss. So many wonderful memories of your dad and the time we shared at "252". He so loved Grammie and his Aunt Eleanore (my mom) and that love was mutual. RIP cousin Walter.
