Harry Allen PRESSNELL Jr.

PRESSNELL, JR., Harry Allen Age 67 of Columbia. June 7, 2013. He was CEO of Industrial Contractors Inc. and Columbia Rock Products Corp., and resident of Golf Club Lane. A graduate of Columbia Central High School, he had been associated with Columbia Rock Products Corp. for fifty-five years, and Industrial Contractors Inc. for fifty years. Mr. Pressnell was a founding director and board member of Community First Bank & Trust. He was past president and a life member of the Tennessee Quarter Horse Association. He was also a member of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association and American Quarter Horse Association. Mr. Pressnell was past president of the Maury County Bridle and Saddle Club during the early Mule Days. He was past president of Tennessee Ornathological Society. A life member of the National Rifle Association, he was instrumental in the development and instructed some of the first hunter safety courses in Tennessee. An avid golfer, he was a member of Graymere Country Club in Columbia, TN and Shoal Creek Golf and Country Club in Birmingham, AL. He attended Riverview Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, whom he married May 17, 1996, Pamela Whitley Pressnell of Columbia; son, Harry Allen "Hal" (Sherry) Pressnell III of Columbia; daughter, Elizabeth (Jim) Moser of Columbia; brother, Jonnie (Janice) Pressnell of Columbia; sister, Sisse (Mike) Pfieffer of Columbia; grandchildren, Hunter Coleman Moser, Caylee Layke Moser, Lakelyn Hastings Moser, Daniel Wade Scroggins; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Allen Pressnell, Sr. and Pauline Norman Pressnell. The family suggests memorials to Riverview Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. 775, Columbia, TN 38402; or Harry Pressnell Scholarship Fund, Columbia State Community College, 1665 Hampshire Pike, Columbia, TN 38401. Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m., at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home, with Pastor David Buffaloe officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
