David Hoffpauir Obituary

David Howard Hoffpauir, 43, of Lake Charles, LA died on Sunday, November 21, 2010.
Mr. Hoffpauir was born November 1, 1967 in Crowley, LA. He was a 1985 graduate of Barbe High School and a 1990 Graduate of McNeese State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for CITGO for the past twenty years, where he was currently the Manager of Fixed Equipment Reliability.
David was an active member of St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church, serving on the finance committee. He was also active in vacation bible school in the mission field and known for his work with the children serving as the puppeteer.
David loved riding his Harley but his greatest hobby was deer hunting. At the time of his death was developing a hunting lease, to be enjoyed by his family and friends, especially his daughters who loved to be with him.
Mr. Hoffpauir is survived by his three daughters, Hannah, Hallie, and Harley Hoffpauir, all of Lake Charles; parents, Van Warren and Ann Lee Black Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; brother, Martin Hoffpauir and his wife Nina of Lake Charles; sister, Kelly H. Champagne and her husband Aaron of Moss Bluff; and paternal grandfather, Warren Howard Hoffpauir of Crowley.
He is also survived by nieces Abrianna Champagne and Emilee Hoffpauir and nephews, Luke Hoffpauir and Guy Champagne.
His paternal grandmother, Pearl Foreman Hoffpauir, and his maternal grandparents, David E. and Maud Black, preceded him in death.
David will be missed by many family, friends, and co-workers who cherished his friendship and charity.
His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at St. Luke Simpson United Methodist Church. Reverends Roger Templeton and Karl Klaus will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Saturday at the church from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
