David McCraine Obituary

A retired cattle farmer and resident of Woodville, Miss., he died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Field Memorial Community Hospital. He was 81, born Feb. 27, 1930, in Wilkinson County, Miss. He was an Army veteran. Visiting at Woodville United Methodist Church on Friday, Nov. 11, from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Dr. Ray Branch and Dr. Will Dowling. Interment in Evergreen Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Wilma Roundtree McCraine, of Woodville; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jerrell Campbell, of Central; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dave and Kelly McCraine, of Lafayette, and John and Danielle McCraine, of Beijing, China; and nine grandchildren, Chris, Anna and Scott Campbell, of Central, Daniel McCraine, of Chula Vista, Calif., Kyle and Will McCraine, of Lafayette, and Ally, Laura and Sasha McCraine, of Beijing. Memorials may be made to WCCA, P.O. Box 977, Woodville, MS, 39669, Woodville United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 757, Woodville, MS, 39669, or your charity of choice. Preceded in death by his parents, John David McCraine and Gladys Stuart McCraine. Pallbearers will be Chris Campbell, Scott Campbell, Nathan Gardner, Daniel McCraine, Charles Smith and Linndell Wyatt. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. L.J. Owens, Charles Canova Jr., John Leake, Eli Whitaker, Cliff DuFour, Tobie J. Morris, T.O. Sessions Jr. and Robert Redhead Jr. He was a member of Woodville United Methodist Church where he was a longtime Sunday school teacher and superintendent, past member of the Board of Directors of Federal Land Bank and Tri-Parish Co-op and longtime member of Wilkinson County Cattleman Association and Forestry Association. Newman Funeral Home, Centreville, in charge of arrangements.
