James Scott Obituary

A resident of Batchelor and a native of Woodville, Miss., he died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at the age of 60 at Lakeview Manor Nursing Home in New Roads. Visiting at Verrette's Pointe Coupee Funeral Home, 1018 Parent St., New Roads, on Friday, Feb. 25, from 3 p.m. until religious services at 7 p.m., conducted by Pastor Kenneth Honore Sr. Dismissal on Saturday, Feb. 26. Interment in Kingsford Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Janice F. Scott; 10 sisters, Veola and husband Willie Ross Sr., Della R. Scott, Mae E. Browder, Lola M. and husband Willie Boyd Jr., Marlene Scott, Lillian Scott, Deloris and husband Edward Franklin, Gayle D. Scott, Millie Scott and Pankie and husband Keith Jarreau; nine brothers, Eddie and wife Deborah Credit, Sidney Scott Jr., S.L. Sr., and wife Janice Scott, Wilbert Scott, Emeal and wife Cynthia Scott, Milton and wife Delana Scott, Edward and wire Linda Scott, Emmitte L. Scott and Russell T. Scott; an aunt, Martha A. Stevenson; two uncles, Mitchell Wyatt and Charles and wife Stella Slain; a sister-in-law, Nora Waters; three brothers-in-law, Calvin Waters, Earnest Flowers and Lionel Johnson; a special friend, Dianna Henyard; seven godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Scott and Jannie W. Scott; a brother, Earnest L. Scott; four sisters, Annie B. Young, Audrey Poindexter, Doris A. Bell and Annie M. Ephion; mother-in-law, Regina Flowers; and father-in-law, Junior Flowers.

To my dear brother, James you left us so quickly. I will always keep you in my heart. I constantly think about that day you called me for help with your need. I know you are in very good hands with God. I miss the sound of your voice. I want forget you. I love and miss you dearly. Your sister Deloris!!!
