Robert S. Wilson

MERIDEN - Robert Snow Wilson passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Nancy; and their children, Peter Wilson and his wife, Darianne, of Meriden, Carol English and her husband, Al, of Huntsville, Ala., Jack Wilson, of Essex, and Margaret Wilson, of Jackson Hole, Wyo. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Rachel Flynn, of Columbia S.C., Adam English, of Birmingham, Ala., Kristin Mastriano, of Meriden, Marc Wilson, of Newtown, Conn., Samantha Garesio, of Meriden, and Taylor Wilson, of Middlefield; and three great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Ernest and Lucy Wilson, of Westbrook, and was predeceased by his brother, John H. Wilson, of Old Saybrook.

Born in 1927 and raised in Meriden and Westbrook, Bob was a graduate of Morgan High School and the University of Connecticut, earning his engineering degree after serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Whitney-Blake in Branford as Plant Engineer in 1989 and spent his retirement years traveling with his wife and enjoying his basement workshop.

The funeral is under the direction of John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, with a memorial service to be held at First Congregational Church, 62 Colony St., Meriden, at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29.
