Evelyn Johnson Obituary

Evelyn G. Johnson, 93, of Desert Hot Springs, Calif. passed away October 23, 2010 in Palm Desert, Calif. of cancer. She was born November 27, 1916 to Neal H. Graham and Carrie L. Robbins in Alabama. She married Gerald H. Johnson on July 24, 1936 in Tulsa, Okla. She was a housewife, Mother and Grandmother. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, H. Ann Laird of Red Lodge, Mont.; sons, Carl H. Johnson (Mary) of Rio Rancho, N.M., and Edward G. Johnson of Desert Hot Springs; granddaughter, Rachel Visinoni of Campbell, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald H. Johnson, who passed Nov. 3, 1985. She was active in Civic organizations in Burbank, Calif., which include Army Mothers & Wives Club, Women's Council, and she was awarded Woman of the Year in 1974 in Burbank, Calif. She was included in the World's Who's Who of Women in 1978 and appeared in the 1973-1974 edition of Community Leaders and Noteworthy Americans. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Calif. Donation's may be made in Evelyn's name to the Desert Cancer Foundation, Palm Desert. Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries
