Phil and family, please accept my condolences for your loss. Dave helped me when I was with Seneca Foods as well as in my present job with Cornell. What a helpful individual he was, and in the process, what a tremendous example. On top of that, anyone receiving his help got an extra bonus from his special warm and enjoyable personality. He had a way of endearing himself to you, and accordingly will be fondly remembered by too many people to count as was evident this past Wed. at the Western NY IFT meeting in Batavia.

Janice,

I am utterly shocked and so saddened by the news of David's passing. Rue called me with the news today. The time I spent with you and David while I lived in NY are the happiest I knew. David was a happy, funny guy and a great chef. Please let Chuck and Brenda know how sorry I am. He is very much missed by all who knew him or had the opportunity to sit at his table.

Jan, I am so shocked and saddened to hear about Dave's death. I could always count on his smile and a story or two to brighten a Stocking Hall day. He was a funny, vibrant man.

I'm so sorry.

Jan and Family,
Our sympathies go out to you all. Lisa called us on Friday to tell us the sad news (as we are in Myrtle Beach, SC until the 30th). Scott remembers when he took the Hunter Safety course from Dave (he lives in Conway down here). And Fay, of course, remembers the many times he, Chuck, Dave and our older son Bill, hunted ducks together. And we both remember the dinners we used to share. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you at this time.

Jan, Pete, And Tim,
I remember many happy days visiting the Brown family in Ithica and Slaterville. Dave was always a good guy to be with. With him there was always something happening. As a result we gladly followed his lead into different adventures. He will continue, in my memory, as someone who brought happiness to those around him.

It's been many years, but I used to play in a band with Dave in 1995-96, the beginnings of what became Revolving Door. I didn't know him in his capacity as a cheese judge or a teacher of young minds, I only knew his broad musical skills, his quick wit, and his unending grace and hospitality. I moved away from central NY years ago, but Dave will always remain a big part of my fondest memories of living and playing music there. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I can only imagine the sadness that the family is facing. I have known Dave since the late 80's, and in addition to being all that he was at work and at home, he was also an excellent musician, one of the most fun bluesy/rock bass players I've worked with. I cannot believe that he is gone - I just heard the news this afternoon and it was a total shock, as I am sure it was to all of you. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family.

We are sorry for the passing of Dave. We haven't seen you guys in a while but, I remember his easy go way and the "What did you think anyhow" attitude. We hope you find the comfort you need. God you bless the Cheese Judge and his family.

Phil, Theresa and family,

I am very sorry for your loss and share your sadness. This news affected many here at Upstate on several levels. Firstly we feel your loss as friends and collegues. We also collectively feel Dave's loss as an industry. To most of us he represented New York State dairy for as long as we remember. His warmth, humor, and knowledge will be missed by us all.
