Teacher's Aide
LAKELAND - Dora C. Talley, 75, of Lakeland, passed away Sunday, May 29 from complications of pneumonia.
Moving here from Anderson, IN, she was a resident of Lakeland since 1978.
She worked for many years as a teacher's aide, and also worked for GTE and AAA. She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church, and a volunteer with Awana Children's Ministry.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Joe in 2007, and a daughter Barbara Ann Richardson; a brother Carl Jones and a sister Marlene Don Dineau. She is survived by two sons, Bill and his wife Shannyn of Lakeland, and John and wife Rita of Elizabethtown, KY; a daughter Penny Talley of Lakeland; brothers Chuck, Ernie, Ray, James, Ronnie, and Tom Jones, and a sister Rozetta Prisoe; 10 grandchildren; Jason, Trina, Aaron Brent, Michael, Derek, Ryan, Cris, Josh, Dylan and Savannah; and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 10:00 am at Crestview Baptist Church, with burial to follow in Socrum Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, 5245 US 98 N, Lakeland on Friday evening, June 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Family requests memorial contributions to Crestview Baptist Church Awanas.

Penny, I am so sorry and I want you to know I am thinking of you and what you and your family must be going through right now. Please accept my condolences. I can only imagine how difficult this must be for you and your family. May God give you peace and comfort during this time and we have the Blessed Hope that we will see our love ones again!

Aunt Dora will truly be missed, she was a special lady. After all these years I still considered her my sister-in-law. Loved her dearly. The lord will help ya'll get thru this. Just trust.
