You know teachers are special when they leave a lasting impression almost 25 yrs later. Mr. Flatts class was always fun and interesting. I can still recognize a Monet painting or a symphany by Mozart thanks to Mr. Flatt. So sorry for your loss. Rest in peace Mr. Flatt. Kim (Bradt)Green, Albrightsville, Pa.

I had Mr. Flatt in for world history. I loved his stories and the classical music he always played as we read. He was so interesting and was my favorite HS teacher. My senior year I signed on as his teacher aide for one period. Thanks Mr. Flatt, you are remembered fondly.

I, like others in the guest book, had Mr. Flatt for Humanities. Mr. Flatt had a passion for the arts and for sharing that beauty with his students. His was my most memorable class from LHS. He was an exceptional educator. My prayers are for his family and friends.

Dear Mrs. Flatt and Family,
I also would like to honor Mr. Flatt by adding to the memories shared by my classmate Sarah Hardy. Mr. Flatt taught us Humanities in our senior year, 1976.
I will always associate him with "Pictures at an Exhibition," all nine Beethoven symphonies, and don't forget the Gregorian chants!
He sowed the seeds for my love of art, music, and travel. In 1979, I visited the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia (then Leningrad) solely because of a film he showed us on the art treasures contained in that museum.
When you are the younger child, you go through school and the teachers will sometimes call you by your older sibling's name. Mr. Flatt was one of the few teachers that didn't teach my sister, Mary, but even he once called me "Mary." I gave him so much grief about it that I still remember the incident today.
I continue to travel and appreciate art and music because of his influence. I am playing Beethoven in his honor as I write this.
Bless you, Mr. Flatt, for all the positive influences you left with those you touched.
With fond memories

Mr. Flatt enlightened us all. His approach to learning was insightful and to this day whenever I read or study I put music on. I will never listen to any song from Camelot without thinking of Mr. Flatt.

I had Harvey (as we would playfully refer to him) in the final period of his final year teaching. I always felt like we somehow persuaded him to retire by our foolish sophomore antics. Regardless, we had a great time and I am sorry he is no longer with us!

Mr. "Harvey" Flatt will be missed. He was a wonderful teacher -I happened to be a 2nd generation student. I was lucky enough to travel to Europe with him also. He fostered a love of beauty and travel that I have passed down to my own children. Thank you to his family for sharing him with all of us at LHS. Please know that my prayers and love are with you all

God Bless you Mr. Flatt. You were the most enlightening teacher I had at LHS. Thanks to you, there are many artists, musicians and great works of creativity that I will treasure forever. Thank you for "Pictures at an Exhibition" and Holst's "the Planets." Thank you for Robert Butler and Bernie Casey. Thank you for opening my mind and inspiring me to have a career in the creative arts. I will remember you forever, Mr. Flatt.

To the family of Mr. Flatt:
I am so sorry for your loss. He was my Humanities teacher in 12th grade, and I learned so much from his obvious appreciation for fine art, music, and literature.
He will be missed.
Sincerely,
