Karen Cunningham Obituary

WEST FRANKFORT -- Karen May (Joplin) Cunningham, 59, went home to be with the Lord at 4:50 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011, in Franklin Hospital in Benton.

She was born Aug. 2, 1951, to Andrew Doc Joplin and Mayple Grace (Joplin) Meacham.

Survivors include her fiancé, Robert Anderson of West Frankfort; three daughters, Karen Lynn Green and husband, Gary, of West Frankfort, Kendrea Loucks and husband, Jonathon Sr., of West Frankfort, and Kandrea Cunningham of Zeigler; seven grandchildren, Gary Green Jr., Amber Burris and boyfriend, James Ragan, Aline Loucks and fiancé, Kyle Miner, Justin Loucks, Kasandrea Loucks and Jonathon Loucks Jr., all of West Frankfort, and Haylie King of Zeigler; four great-grandchildren; three bothers, Jack Joplin, Jeff Joplin and Larry Joplin; and two sisters, Kandie Roberts and Martha Walker, all of West Frankfort; and several nieces, nephews and close friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; husband, Kenneth Earl Cunningham on Sept. 7, 2001; a very close friend, Howard Willis; her niece, Bonnie Jarvis Halcomb; and a brother, John Kellis Joplin.

She was of Pentecostal faith and had been a newspaper carrier for the Daily American and The Southern Illinoisan newspapers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, in Parker Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort, with Pastor Dennis Myers officiating. Burial will be in East Fork Cemetery in West Frankfort. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

We are so sorry for your loss. Karen was one of the sweetest ladies with a smile on her face everytime we saw her. We're sure angels are rejoicing now that she's joined them in Heaven. May God comfort all of you and may you have many memories of time spent with her.
