Clara Wheeler Obituary

CREAL SPRINGS -- Clara Pauline Wheeler, 67, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011, at her home in Creal Springs.

Clara was born Jan. 20, 1944, in Aurora, the daughter of Emil and Mary (Popp) Pitz.

She married Kenneth Wheeler on Dec. 31, 1960, in Aurora. He survives in Creal Springs.

Mrs. Wheeler was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Marion. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Wheeler of Creal Springs; son, Richard Wheeler of McMinnville, Tenn.; granddaughter, Tiffiny; great-grandson, Anthony; two brothers, Frank Pitz and his wife, Marilyn, of Marion, and Matthew Pitz and his wife, Georgia, of Ohio; two sisters, Rosanne Torres and her husband, Eddie, of Montgomery, and Teresa Nanniga and her husband, Denny, of Montgomery; and a brother-in-law, Tom Gribble of DeKalb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mary Ann Gribble; and her daughter-in-law, Kassie Wheeler.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 9, in Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, with Father Richard Mohr officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private graveside services at Mountainview Cemetery in McMinnville, Tenn., will be at a later date.

Clara will be in our hearts forever. She was always there when someone needed help, or just someone to talk to. She will be sadly missed. My friend and sister in law.
