Florence Kabat Obituary

TAMAROA -- Florence Irene Kabat, 90, of O'Fallon, Mo., passed away at 2 a.m., Thursday, May 19, 2011, in Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon, Mo.

Florence was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Mo.

She was born Nov. 28, 1920, at Sesser, the daughter of Felix and Helen (Ratajczyk) Malanowski.

She married Phillip E. Kabat on Sept. 20, 1954, in St. Louis, and he preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1991.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Hyman and husband, Leonard, of O'Fallon, Mo.; one son, John Kabat and friend, Lynnan Heise, of St. Louis County; one brother, Daniel Malanowski and wife, Rose, of Tamaroa; sister-in-law, Helen Malanowski of Tamaroa and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Elizabeth Malanowski and brother, Adolph Malanowski.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 21, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa with Father Oliver Nwachukwu officiating. Burial will be in St. Barbara Cemetery at Scheller. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Friends may make memorials to Masses or Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
