Rob man, I never got to tell you how proud of you I am. When you came back to Fresno for the last time, you told me about the things you went through overseas and I freaked. You were my big lil brother and hearing about it all and seeing your scars, I got mad about you putting yourself in such danger with so little worry about the consequences. But thats what separates a soldier from a civilian, the willingness to face danger when all others flee from it. And even though many years have passed since that day, I'll never forget you and I'm honored to have been/be your brother from another mother. Love you man, til that day.

For some moments in life there are just no words,
However, I can be here to lift you up
To brighten your days.
My arms will gladly hold you
And wipe your tears away.
For I to know the pain of loss
so I will give you my hand and we will walk this journey together.

To the family of Hospital Corpsman Robert Hartwell.... I send my deepest condolences! I was only stationed with Rob since last November, but in that time I knew he was the type of person that would always put others before himself. Rob was always with a positive attitude and joking about how people were always taking things to serious......reminding me everytime he seen me....saying,
"smile HM2, it ain't that bad," then laughing! You will be greatly missed by us at the command, your friends, and most of your family . I pray that we will meet again some day Bro....!

Robbie... I guess this makes it more real even though I'm in denial that your not here anymore. I miss you so much. The thought that I will never see you again hurts so bad. I know your with your mother and that makes me happy. Your are missed and loved by everyone. May you rest in peace cuz... I love you!

May 21, 2011

It was an honor and privilege to have known Robbie as he exemplified what is good about America's young men and women. While the vast majority of our young people are doing their "own thing" Robbie, and others like him, make it possible. May God Bless Robbie and all that have served with him and that continue serving today.
