Scott CRAIG Obituary

Published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix on Jun. 29, 2017.
CRAIG, Scott Aaron Gould-Stewart
It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Scott Aaron Gould-Stewart Craig, age 20 years, on Tuesday June 27, 2017. Scott was born on February 28, 1997 in Moose Jaw, SK. Scott attended school in Saskatoon, graduating from Aden Bowman Collegiate in 2015. He was enrolled in the U of S Agronomy diploma program so that he could continue his love for all things ranchy. Scott was currently working in the field of agronomy and loved all of the things involved – well except maybe floating till 2 a.m. - and then coming back to the ranch to help his dad with the rest of the day's work. Scott lived a somewhat double life between the city and the farm – he could barista you a lovely Starbucks quality drink or fix whatever he had broken at the farm with equal skill. He loved his basketball and wasn't ready to give it up after High School – whether it was helping his dad coach his sister or reffing on the weekends both in Saskatoon and Central Butte. He enjoyed watching his brothers and cousins play hockey and travelled many miles to go and cheer them on. He had a soft spot for kids and animals, as evidenced by the many snaps of puppies, calves, his sister and brothers that we all saw. Scott will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Janice Craig; father and stepmother, Kurt and Kendra Stewart; father, Bryan Craig; sister, Teagan; brothers, Kamden and Colter; grandparents: Michael and Margaret Gould, Darlene Stewart, and Wayne and Margaret Craig; aunts and uncles: Marilyn Gould, Brian and Dallas Gould, Dallas and Shanlee Wilm, Michael Craig, Travis, and Charlene and Mike Velonas; as well as all his cousins and many honorary aunts and uncles. Scott was predeceased by his grandpa, Gord Stewart.

Sorry to hear of this tragic loss. Scott sat in the front row, left-hand side of my class, never missed a class and was always keenly interested. I could tell he had a real love for agriculture! He was such a hard worker and even wrote all his final exams despite not feeling well. I know that he would have been very successful in his field of study. He will be deeply missed in the College of Agriculture.

I only learned of Scott's passing today and wanted to offer my deepest condolences. I taught physical education and coached basketball, soccer and track and field at ABCI when Scott was a student. I can vividly remember his beautiful smile and his willingness to help with anything, especially if it was athletics-related. He was reliable and trustworthy. I am so very sorry for your unimaginable loss.

I am so sorry to hear about Scott's passing. I had the privilege of working closely with him when he was a student at Aden Bowman. Scott is a particularly memorable student for me because of his work ethic, leadership, friendly nature, and most of all, his kindness to everyone. We are a better school and city because of Scott, and I will miss his energy and warmth. My thoughts are with your family and friends in this time of remembrance.

Janice and family. Todd and I were so sad to hear of your sons passing. We were so happy to have met you both on Halloween. It was evident Scott loved kids as he was so good to ours after just meeting them! Our first impression of him was how nice and friendly of a guy he was! He smiled from the moment we met him till the moment we left. Again our sincere condolences.. I can't imagine how much your heart hurts right now... I'm so sorry for your loss
