Colleen ZIELKE Obituary
September 1, 1960 – September 5, 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colleen Maureen Zielke on Friday, September 5, 2014. She is loved and remembered by her mother, Gladys; her sister, Wendy (Jerry); her brother, Randy (Colleen); and her two nephews, Riley (Rachel) and Kyle (Christine). Colleen was predeceased by her father, Herbert. Colleen was born on September 1, 1960 in Saskatoon where she attended all of her schooling from elementary through high school and SIAST (Kelsey). She attained her diploma in Biological Sciences specializing in Animal Health Technology and worked a long and fulfilling career in that field at the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon). She spent endless hours playing sports; the top two of which were Women's Curling and Women's Fastball. Her leisure time was spent travelling, camping, fishing, golfing, horseback riding; working in her yard and spending time with her beloved pets. Colleen took great comfort in time spent with her family; whether it was just visiting or attending a special event; her family was always number one in her heart and mind. The Funeral Service will be held at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Saskatoon SPCA (www.saskatoonspca.com). Condolences may be sent to www.parkfuneral.ca "Obituaries & Tributes". Just learned of Colleen's passing. My condolences to the family. I too was a WM classmate of Colleen's and enjoyed her kindness to the new scrawny kid who arrived there in Gr 10. I visited with her at the "50"th reunion.

Aunt Glad, Randy, Wendy, CB, Jerry & boys,
I have such great memories of Colleen from when I was a kid and visiting Saskatoon. She took me everywhere with her and her friends and always made sure we had so much fun. She was warm and funny and a wonderful person. We are all going to miss her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

I was so very sad to hear of my best "buds" passing today. Sorry I Didn't hear about it earlier!! My deepest sympathies to all the family - especially Gladys (as Zeke was always worried about her). I will miss my long time friend a lot as we shared many memories daily over the years.

I'm truly shocked to hear of Colleen's passing. I used to run into her at Grainfield's on Sunday morning once in a while as she took her mom out for breakfast. The funniest thing was when she sat in front of me in Grade 10 English, we both turned to each one day and said "did you know that your dad went to school with my dad" as our parents had been at a 50th school reunion the night before for Thornton School. We both cracked up laughing as it's such a small world. Keep them laughing up there Colleen just as you did with us in high school. May you have many memories to look back on as my thoughts are with you, the Zielke's at this time.

Glady, Wendy and Jerry, Randy and CB - You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
