He was predeceased by his first wife Mary, nee Lewis, and his second wife June (nee Tindall). He is survived by his daughters Jane (Murray Lott) of Delta, B.C., and Susan of Saskatoon and by his grandson Mackenzie Lott. Harry qualified in Medicine at the University of Oxford in 1952 and after service in the British Army (Royal Army Medical Corps), came to Saskatoon in 1956. Dr Emson accepted me as a pathology extern at St Paul's in 1973 when I was a medical student at Newcastle, UK . His energy and enthusiasm inspired me into pathology very much along similar lines - general surgical and forensic. I also served in the RAMC, Far East with Gurkhas having listened to Harry's anecdotes. As I approach the end of my career I smile at the memory of his wit and the larger than life personality of a very very good pathologist. Thank you Harry.

Dear Susan and Jane,
I was deeply saddened to hear the news of Harry's death. He memories of him revolve around his incredible generosity: Whether it was food, drink, or most importantly, laughs. Also, his capacity and desire to help (regardless of circumstances) were remarkable. When we were kids, and our parents were going away, my mother would take care to point to the list of contacts she'd recorded, in case of emergency. Then she'd turn to us and say, But, if you're in troublereal troublecall Harry. As you're aware, she had first hand knowledge: in a story too convoluted to share, he drove my mom to the hospital when she went into labour with me. Due to being out of the country, I was unable to attend his funeral, and deeply regret not helping to see out the person who'd helped see me in. He was a remarkable man and will be missed, enormously.

My profound condolences,
Shelagh McDonald

Susan and Jane, Lois and I were very sorry to learn this sad news. As you know, Harry--like Mary in earlier days--was a welcome fixture in the McDonald household for more than 50 (!) years. I always admired his sheer presence and the great pleasure he seemed to take in all aspects of his rich life. My favourite memory was his warm and funny toast to my parents at their 50th anniversary--only one of many such orations (he had a great sense of occasion). An unforgettable man whom I know you'll miss. Our deepest condolences. David and Lois

Dear Jane and Susan,
Please accept our condolences on the passing of your father. Harry was an incredible character, filled with a love of life, wicked sense of humor and a kind and gentle, if somewhat loud, spirit. The Hamilton clan first met Harry in the late 1960's up at the "Cove" and immediately we knew we had found a kindred soul ... someone who loved to laugh, drink good wine, debate anything anywhere and enjoy the company of others. He was a dear friend to my father and mother and they loved his witty remarks and quirky charm. We will never forget their epic tennis matches, doubles with Peter Reeves and Dale Hazen. The tennis was terrible, the comradery superb and the hilarity unending.
We know how much you will miss your dad and our thoughts are with you and your families. Harry will always be in our memories as a wonderful gentleman and dear friend.
Regards,
Rob Hamilton, and on behalf of Lois, Jim, Doug and Pat and our families.
