Edie, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, was born October 16, 1925, a daughter of the late James Mitchell and Agnes Cheape Mitchell. Her hometown was Buffalo, NY, where she grew up and had family and many friends. She married her late husband, William 'Bill' David Stoller, October 13, 1945, soon after his return from the Pacific where he served as a U.S. Marine in WW II. After initially living in Buffalo, NY, they settled in and raised their family in Watertown and Horseheads, NY. Following her husband's death, Edie moved to Columbia, SC, in 1983 to be near her children. She was employed by DG&F as a proofreader and retired from Richland School District II where she worked in the computer lab at Richland Northeast High School. Edie was devoted to her family and friends, enjoyed bridge, golf, and doting on her grandchildren and family pets. She was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church.
Surviving Edie are her children, Patricia Stoller McLaren and her husband, James T. McLaren, of Columbia, S.C., and Brian Stoller (Deb Haywood) of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren, Molly McLaren Davis (Matt) and William James McLaren; and one great-grandchild, Logan James Davis. Gramma Edie will always be remembered for her homemade pies, sense of humor and Scottish ways.
Edie was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Mitchell D'Arcangelo.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Northeast Presbyterian Church, 601 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223, or to a charity of one's choice.

Dear Brian and Pat,
I am so saddened by your mother's passing. She was such a nice neighbor and friend. Please know that she is in our Lord's hands now, I am very certain. My heart goes out to you and your families, and I pray that God will give you strength at this time, knowing that others care..
Sincerely,
