Mrs. George died Tuesday, April 26, 2011. Born in Hartsville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Murray and Lucille Trembly Patterson. She was a member of the Army Officer's Wives Volunteer Service and a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. She was previously employed as a switchboard operator with Southern Bell.
Surviving are her husband, Manuel J. George; daughters, Cissy E. George of Lexington, Teresa L. Simkins and her husband, Robert D. Simkins, of Columbia; son, Robert A. George of West Columbia; three grandchildren, Kristen L. Matthews, Anna C. George, Nickolas R. George; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 100 Polo Road, Columbia, SC 29223.
