Joseph Navoczynski Obituary

Joseph S. Navoczynski, 83, of South Scranton, died Tuesday morning at Allied Skilled Nursing after an illness. His wife is the former Marie Wackowski.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Joseph and Dora Moletski Navoczynski, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. A Marine Corps veteran of World War II, he was employed by Eureka Printing before his illness.

Also surviving are a son, Daniel Navoczynski and wife, Beth, Scranton; three daughters, Mary Diane Lavelle and husband, Dan, Florida; Janet Santomauro and husband, Dave, Scott Twp.; and Lenore Navoczynski, Scranton; five grandchildren, Jason Santomauro, Jamie Tetreault and Nicole, D.J. and Brandon Navoczynski; and a brother, Stanley Navoczynski, Georgia.

The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m., with a blessing service in the Leon S. Gorgol Funeral Home, 1131 Pittston Ave., Scranton. Interment, private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m.

I'm a first cousin of Joe's and live in Massachusetts. We grew up together in Scranton. His mother and my grandfather were siblings. I extend my deepest sympathy to each and everyone of you.
