Lawrence Mattei Obituary
Born in Italy, son of the late Serafino and Calinda Bonanni Mattei, he came to the United States at age 2 and resided in Jessup for the rest of his life. He was a 1950 graduate of Jessup High School and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Olyphant, a member of American Legion Michael Steiner Post 411 in Jessup, a member of the Cement Masons Union Local 100 in Scranton, and a member of Club 100. He was employed all his life in construction and worked as a union cement mason. He was a great husband, godfather, friend and worker. He was an avid card player and enjoyed the comforts of his home and living in Jessup.
Also surviving are his godsons and caregivers, Jamie Angerson, Olyphant; Sean Angerson, Jessup; Larry Rowker, Dickson City; close family members Cathie Angerson and husband, Joe, Olyphant; Maryann Griffin and husband, Manuel, Archbald; Palmina Bonanni Davis and husband, Trevor, Clearwater, Fla.; and several cousins.
The funeral will be Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 in Holy Cross Parish at St. Patrick's Church, Delaware Avenue, Olyphant.
Interment with military honors in St. John's Cemetery, Jessup. Friends may call today, 3 to 6 p.m.; American Legion service at 4:30.

Ann, Although I can't be with you in this time of grief, may your memories bring you comfort. Just know that it will be hard to face the first years without Larry, but let the love of family and friends help you through.
