Evelyn Eisele Obituary

Evelyn Martina Quinn Eisele, 84, of Peckville, formerly of Dunmore, died Tuesday in the Dunmore Health Care Center, where she resided since October. She was the widow of Dunmore police Sgt. William P. Eisele Sr., who died Jan. 14, 1987.

Born Oct. 28, 1925, in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Martin Quinn and Catherine Powell Quinn Luby and the stepdaughter of the late Joseph Luby. She was a graduate of Dunmore High School. After graduation, she worked as an operator for Bell Telephone in Stroudsburg and Scranton. She also worked at C&C Answering Service in the Medical Arts Building. Evelyn later went on to work for many years in the office of Dr. Elihu Friedman and later as a switchboard operator at Friendship House.

She was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, Dunmore, and the 800 Club at Immaculate Conception Church. She enjoyed trips with her friends to the shore. She also enjoyed meetings, dinners, and activities especially bingo and playing cards. Evelyn had a wonderful personality and a great sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Dunmore Health Care Center and Hospice Community Care for their hard work and dedication in taking care of Evelyn.

Surviving are a daughter, Anne Zwanch and husband, Patrick, Peckville; three sons, William Jr., Scranton; Martin and wife, Tammy, Dunmore; and Joseph, Peckville; two brothers, Joseph Luby and wife, Carol, Scranton; and James Luby and wife, Sandee, Spring Brook Twp.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Patrick Zwanch and wife, Kristin, and children, Breck, Nadja and Liam; Tracy Zwanch-Kranick and husband, John, and children, John, Connor and Max; Michael Zwanch and wife, Krishelle, and daughter, Lydia; David Eisele; Brad Eisele; and Danielle Eisele; two brothers-in-law, William Murray and Walter Heisler; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Luby Heisler and Joan Luby Murray.

Anyone planning on attending the funeral is asked to go directly to the church.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary of Moount Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dun- more. Interment, Cathedral Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday, 5 to 8 p.m., in the Vanston and James Funeral Home, 1401 Ash St., Scranton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann's Basilica, 1233 St Ann's St., Scranton, PA 18504.
