Donald Seymour Obituary

Donald E. Seymour Jr., 65, of Scranton, died Wednesday at Community Medical Center. His wife is the former Judy A. Thomas. The couple celebrated 47 years of marriage on July 11.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Donald E. Seymour and Lottie Sadowski, he was a former member of Holy Family Church. He was educated in Scranton public schools and attended Scranton Technical High School. A Navy veteran, he was employed by Linder Bros. before retirement.

Don was an avid bowler, pool player and shuffleboard player, participating in many leagues. He also enjoyed baseball, fishing and family cookouts.

He was a loving husband, father and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His great- est joy in life was his grandchildren.

Also surviving are four daughters, Donna J. Passino and husband, Brad, Scranton; Lisa M. Florey, Scranton; Beverly A. Klush, Pittston; and Theresa Stanton and husband, Eric, Aynor S.C.; two brothers, Ronald and Theodore Seymour, both of Scranton; eight grandchildren, Candice Murphy, Brad Passino Jr., Karen Passino, Jacob Florey, Stephen Florey, Troyel Klush, Shelby Klush and London Stanton; four great-grandchildren, Adam Murphy, RoseMary Murphy, Donna Murphy and Natnael Passino; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by two sons, John and Joseph Seymour; and a sister, Delores Seymour.

The funeral will be Friday at 8 p.m. in the McGoff-Hughes Funeral Home Inc., 1401 Capouse Ave., Scranton, with a blessing service by Monsignor Michael Delaney, assistant pastor, St. Paul's Church. Interment, private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday, 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Donald E Seymour Jr. Memorial Fund, c/o First Liberty Bank, 500 Davis St., Scranton, PA 18505.
