Shirley Reid Obituary

Shirley H. Reid, 56, of Tunkhannock, died Saturday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the wife of Forest W. Reid, Tunkhannock.

Born in Scranton on May 29, 1956, daughter of the late Harry and Alice Marie Puckett Rosengrant, she was employed at United Rehabilitation Services of Tunkhannock. Shirley was involved in many different organizations, including being a past board member of ARC and Keystone House Parents. She enjoyed helping the mentally disabled with all aspects of life. In her spare time, she liked to play computer games such as Pogo and eat circus peanuts and cheese curls. She also enjoyed playing bingo.

Also surviving are sons, Allen, Tunkhannock; and Brad, Scranton; brother, Jim Rosengrant, Philadelphia; and sisters, Ann Marie Krienburg, Tunkhannock; Karen Reed, Meshoppen; Debbie Siess, Scranton; and Wilma Schmidt, Oregon.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Hannon.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Pastor Joan S. Dodson of the Lake Winola Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola.

Friends may pay their respects Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the United Way, 119 Warren St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657. For directions or condolences, visit www.aplit winfuneralhomes.com.
