Mark Griffin Obituary

Mark S. Griffin, 52, a resident of East Scranton, died May 27 in the Delaware River while doing what he loved, fishing.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Frederick and Alta Mae Cramer Griffin, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. A member of Trout Unlimited, he had written several articles for publication in their magazine. He was employed by Wal-Mart Distribution Center, Tobyhanna, and before that, he had been employed by Sandvik Steel, Waverly.

He enjoyed target shooting and had an interest in computers. He was a conservationist, an avid fisherman, always returning the fish to their ecosystem. He was precise and exact in his life, hobbies and interests.

Surviving are a brother, Ned Griffin, Scranton; an uncle, Adon Cramer, Jefferson Twp.; a cousin, Mary Ellen Sexton and husband, Lynn, Jefferson Twp.; and cousins.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Griffin; and two sisters, Leona Griffin and Marcy Griffin.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Miller Bean Funeral Home Inc., 436 Cedar Ave., Scranton.

Hi Ned,

I'm so sorry to hear about Mark. I still can't believe it. Know that my prayers are with you all. He was a great friend growing up and I regret not staying in touch. Bless you all.
