Ruth Carnahan Gardner

Ruth (Carnahan) Gardner Port Huron Mrs. Ruth Yvonne Gardner, 81, of Port Huron, died Thursday, September 2, 2010. She was born October 2, 1928 in Port Huron to the late Joseph and Anna Carnahan. She married John L. Gardner on April 20, 1946 in Belleville, Illinois. He died December 31, 1991. Mrs. Gardner graduated from Flint Branch Nursing College as an LPN. She worked at Port Huron Hospital and with Dr. W.A. Schafer for over 20 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge. She is survived by five children, John (Frances) Gardner, Kathleen (Edward) Kippen, Cheryl Woolman, Christine Barnes and Gregory Gardner; twelve grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Daniel Murphy, of St. Regis Catholic Church, will officiate. The Rite of Committal will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
