Dorothy M. Albrecht, age 90, died Monday, September 2, 2013 at Port Huron Hospital after a short illness.

She was born April 5, 1923, to the late Herbert and Bertha (Kippen) Massman.  She married Chester Albrecht on November 22, 1941.  Together they farmed and moved to Croswell in 1948.  Chester died January 31, 1995.

Dorothy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Sanilac. She worked at Aunt Jane's Pickles, Straffon Hardware, and the Cros-Lex Schools.  She enjoyed her family, quilting, crafts, and watching the Detroit Tigers.

She is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Charles) Tackaberry, and her son Gary (Barb) Albrecht; grandchildren, Mike (Tracy) Tackaberry, David (Chris) Tackaberry, Doug (Nikki) Tackaberry, Debbie (Jim) Zoeplitz, and Eric (Kristen) Albrecht;  Great Grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda, Alison, Jonathan, Emily Tackaberry, Kyle, Kevin Zoeplitz, and Danny Albrecht.  Sister Freda Fetting, sister-in-law Virginia Mach, brother-in-law Sanford (Joan) Albrecht, sister-in-law Bernadine Albrecht; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant son Melvin in 1943, sisters Grace Hoppenworth and Frances Behn, brother Ray Massman, and grandson Dan Tackaberry.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Saturday September 7 at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Sanilac.  The Rev. Leo Thoms will officiate.  Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 7-9 PM Thursday and 1-9 PM Friday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell, and 10-11 AM Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to the St. John Lutheran Church.
