Josephine Vaughn Obituary
She was the daughter of the Rev. Floyd Miles and Mrs. Mary Ruth Warren Miles, both deceased and married to Mr. Howard Lee Vaughn of the home. She was a member of Union Chapel UCC.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard Vaughn, of Burlington, and Ralph Vaughn, of Atlanta; one daughter, Zelda Vaughn Holland (Luther), of Arizona; two brothers, the Rev. Augusta Miles, of Burlington, and Coy L. Miles, of Maryland; two sisters, Ethel Smith, of Burlington, and Sarah Godfrey, of Graham; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and a sister-in-law, Mary Miles.
She was preceded in death by one brother, the Rev. Clarence Miles and one sister, Grace Pauline Alston.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Sharpe Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church before the service at Union Chapel UCC and at other times the family will receive visitors at the home.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Union Chapel UCC with the Pastor Rev. Ervin Milton as the eulogist.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Sharpe Funeral Home is serving the family.

I only met Mrs Vaughn once at Holly and Brandon's wedding but from everything Holly has said about her she was a special person. The type we need more of on this earth. She will be missed.

I can remember visiting your home as a child growing up in the neighborhood on Avondale and remember your Mom always being a sweet kind lady. Even though we could not be there we share in your pain and your loss. I ask God's blessings upon your family.
