Charles Lee Stephens

Services for Charles Lee Stephens will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 at Second Union Baptist Church, 6436 Old Baton Rouge Hwy, Alexandria with the Rev. Joseph Martin Jr. (Pastor) officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Gonzaque-Williams Mortuary.

Mr. Charles Stephens, 79, of Alexandria, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Tioga Nursing Home Community Care.

Mr. Stephens, a retired veteran, served in the Army for 22 years and also was retired from Dresser Industries where he was employed for 18 years as a Metal Machinist.

He is preceded in death by his wife Elnora Stephens, one daughter Debra Stephens (retired Air Force), his parents John Henry and Ruby Stephens, one brother William Stephens and two sisters Margaret and Frances Stephens.

Survivors include daughter, Barbara Stephens (Kevin Gaines) of Alexandria; sons, Bruce Stephens of Tampa, Florida, Dr. Charles Ray Stephens, M.D. of Atlanta, Georgia, Kenneth Stephens (Valerie) of Dallas, Texas and Darryl Stephens (Crystal) of Alexandria; brothers, John Henry Stephens and James Stephens both of South Carolina; sisters, Johnnie Mae Stephens of South Carolina and Lois Stephens of New Haven, Connecticut; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild.

Friends may call the funeral home until 9am and the church until the time of service.
