My heart goes out to you, Shelby. I always admired Don while watching him for years working out at the gym. I know it must have been extremely hard on him some days. And yet he showed great determination and stamina. It certainly motivated and inspired me.

To: Donald Long family;
Donald was my friend through Northwestern and we both became principals in Rapides. We enjoyed many laughs through all the years. He had a great sense of humor. We both retired in the Parish and I continued in Education in Texas where I remain in the school system,yet.
Best wishes to you all; May God bless and confort each of you. Donald E. "Pete" Robinson

I am sorry for your loss. Mr. Long was a mentor to me. He helped me in so many ways, teaching me in the Industrial Arts Department at Brame Junior High. He gave me my first job, allowing me to work at Brame's canteen and in the Summer working with him at various jobs refinishing and repairing items at schools across Rapides Parish. He taught me a work ethic that I have used throughout my career at a Louisiana State Trooper and now as a business owner. He will be sorely missed.
