I remember Tom being a thoughtful and considerate man. I would always look forward to his visits to the dealership back in the late 80's. His demeanor, composure and unflappable integrity were characteristics that immediately come to mind when reflecting on Tom Johnson.

Having the pleasure to have known and to have worked with such a fine gentleman as Tom is one of the highlights of my long career with Volvo Trucks. I can never recall talking to Tom that the subject of his family and golf did not somehow enter into the conversation. He was an inpiration and a delight.... the Volvo family has lost a special friend. You, the Family members who I never had the pleasure of meeting, are in my thoughts and prayers. May all the days of your lives be blessed with the wonderful memories of such a wonderful MAN.

February 9, 2011

Dear Kelly and Kara and family,
I just saw your family pictures at Saint Brigid and realized that your father had passed away. I am so sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers. May God's love and grace give you a sense of peace at this very difficult time.
Fondly,

Karen, our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family in this time of need. It was an honor to know and work with Tom. Anyone who has spent any time around your family observed the deep love Tom had with you and the children. We all should try to follow Tom's example in how to live the fullest life possible. We wish we could be there to show our respect. Unfortunately we will have to send an electronic 'hug'.

Tom was a well respected member of the Volvo Truck National Accounts team joining Volvo in 1982. In my short time working with him, I found in Tom, like many who he worked with over the years, a kind and gentle man. He truly was the consummate professional and always represented Volvo in a way that would make you proud. I hope that your family in this time of loss will be able to celebrate the wonderful father and friend he was. He will be missed and always hold a special place in our hearts.
