Dear Pete and Judy, I just read of Alan's passing and am so sad. He was such a great person and helped me so much with my English genealogy. You would have thought he was looking for his ancestors with the zeal he put forth to search! It was always nice to keep up on you two and your travels, etc. through him. My sincere condolences.

The time spent working with Alan at K. B. Mc Carthy's in the mid 1960's is still fresh in my mind. He was a generous mentor and teacher and graciously shared his wonderful library to broaden out apprecaition for good literature and vocabulary. I always smile when when I think of him. Our very own "Cookie." My condolences to his family ... he was such a sweet and thoughful man ... and he taught me so much more than just how to work in an office ... thanks for the memories Alan.

We will miss Alan for his great genealogy lessons and his dry British humor, almost as much as we will miss him for the friend he was.
