Lois Genevieve Pietrok

passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on November 8, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Lois was born on March 3, 1934 in Oregon to Albert & Edith Seeger - she was one of four children. She married Louis Pietrok in 1952, and they moved to Fortuna, CA in 1955. Lois and Louis lived in many towns throughout Humboldt County but decided to settle in Ferndale in 1966. During their almost 59 years together, they were blessed with six children, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Lois is survived by her husband, Louis (Ferndale, CA), brothers: Phillip & David Seeger (Oregon), sister: Virginia Rogers (Aumsville, OR), children: Michael Pietrok (wife, Tracie - Palmer, AK), Julia Mechling (husband, Larry - Cloverdale, CA), Susan Lyons (Ferndale, CA), Cindy Goldsby (husband, Bret - Ferndale, CA), Peter Pietrok (wife, Heidi - Loleta, CA) and Ronald Pietrok (wife, Holly - Windsor, CA), grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois' greatest joys came from watching over her brood and presiding over family gatherings - from holidays to "just because" BBQ's in the backyard. Lois loved to cook. Her specialties ranged from prime rib and crab cioppino to making apples pies with her husband, Louis. Hummingbirds were Lois' favorite bird - she enjoyed watching them in her yard and owned many collectables. She also was an avid reader. Graveside funeral services will be held at the Table Bluff Cemetary, on Singley Rd., near Loleta, California on Friday, November 12 at 2:00 in the afternoon. Services are under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home of Eureka. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in Lois' honor.
