BARDEN, Barbara Jenness, 78, of Mechanicsville, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, I.L. "Sonny" Barden Jr., and her brother, Charles F. Jenness Jr. She is survived by her children, Dianne Roberson (W. Kelly), Cathy Moolhuyzen (Thomas), and Stephen Linwood Barden; grandchildren, Kristen Moolhuyzen Hutter (Bryant) and Megan and Michael Moolhuyzen; great-grandchildren, Declan and Tatum Hutter; brother, Stuart Jenness (Joyce); sister-in-law, Phyllis Jenness; and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones. She attended Walnut Grove Baptist Church and Hanover Evangelical Friends Church. She volunteered for Head Start, and St. Mary's Hospital. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 26 at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Route 301 and Shady Grove Road. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 27 at the Funeral Home. Interment Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hanover Fire Station #7. Dianne, Cathy & Steve,
I have so many warm memories of your mom and feel lucky to have had the opportunity to know her. I remember how she made everyone feel so welcome in her home.
She was a great lady and will be missed.

Diane, Cathy, Steve, and families, you will be in our thoughts and prayers. I will truly miss Aunt Barbara. No matter how bad she felt she would always call and check on us. I will truly miss you calling to say a prayer for us. She was always an uplifting person. I can still see her big beautiful smile.
